Northland Halberg 10th May 2018

The weather at Whangarei Golf Club couldn’t have been better and the course was stunning as evident by the scoring. It was pleasing to see so many Northland players wearing their Northland colours.

The Northland Eagles had as an honored guest; Halberg Sports disability Adviser, James Glen, however not quite making it for the day was our National President, David Howie who had transportation issues with his flight being redirected back to Napier due to the foggy conditions at Auckland Airport. Better Luck next time David.
There were 119 players in the field starting at 9-30, last group off at 11-46. The last groups off 1st and 10th tees finished around 4-00pm so great effort golfers. Great BBQ at the half way point put on by the Hikurangi Lions, beautiful burgers and beers. Thanks Lions. Further acknowledgements to Whangarei Golf Club for donating the course for the day, use of the facilities and Whangarei Golf Shop staff for their help with organising, cards and scoring.
Money raised for the Halberg Disability Sports Foundation came to $6000
So many more Eagles and Sponsors to thank for donating money, prizes, vouchers and raffles, too numerous to mention.
